Kanthi D Suresh is editor-in-chief for Power Sportz, India’s first live digital sports channel. Beginning her career as an anchor for DD Sports in 2008, she has accrued over a decade of experience. She first made her mark at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Since then, Kanthi has anchored for the Commonwealth Games, the Asian Games, and the Olympics, on many occasions.
Well known for her Power Sportz program, Talking Turkey with Kanthi, she leads the debate on India’s global athletic presence, interviewing experts and athletes. As a lifelong sports lover, she has made it her mission to ensure talented athletes from every sport receive the attention they deserve, regardless of gender… She uses her platform not only to highlight the accomplishments of male and female athletes alike, but also to bring to light the challenges faced in the sporting environment in India. With her intellect, charisma, and ambition, Kanthi hopes to set a precedent of success for women struggling to break into the sports world.

Needless to mention, Kanthi is the first woman in India to head a sports channel, and the information from verified sources indicate she could be the first woman in the World, to do so.
Kanthi caught the journalism bug at a young age. She has studied journalism & Newswriting from London School of Journalism and holds an MBA from Osmania University Campus.
In addition to her work as a sports channel editor-in-chief, Kanthi is the founder and CEO of Konnexions, a global executive search firm with offices in New York, Delhi, London and Sharjah.
In Oct 2019, Kanthi received an award for International Excellence from Bharat Ratna Awardee, Dr Pranab Mukherjee.
In a recent interview, Kanthi had indicated the difficulties & challenges involved in a male-dominated sports environment, and spoke at length about her journey in the same.
Recently, Kanthi D Suresh was also invited by BBC as a Game Changer in Sports.
On International Women’s Day, 2020, the Government of India in a tweet through the MyGovIndia handle recognized Ms Kanthi as the first woman in India to head a 24×7 sports channel.
Prime Minister Modi’s Mann Ki Baat updates twitter handle tweeted about Kanthi breaking gender stereotypes, as part of the Women’s day felicitations.
In October 2022, Kanthi launched GPCL T20 (Global Power Cricket League),Season 1 and invited T20 teams from seven countries giving the league a World Cup flavour. The League, a brainchild and vision of Kanthi D Suresh, was created to provide opportunities to talented Indian diaspora players living outside India, along with foriegn nationals of that country. GPCL, was a vision born out of the Government of Indias focus on the 32million Indian Diaspora community who, the PM, has often referred to as our Cultural Ambassadors, and it also included the vision of the ‘Chalo India’ campaign announced by the PM himself, while addressing the Indian diaspora community in Germany in 2022. GPCL T20 was declared a grand success by the players themselves, and now are eagerly awaiting the announcement of Season 2.
During the Closing ceremony of GPCL, Kanthi made a statement that the difference between Talent and Stardom lies in a robust media platform and that she would be committed to providing that platform through her channel, Power Sportz TV.
In 2023, Kanthi set up HIPSA(Holistic International Pravasi Sports Association), and took over as the President of the federation set up exclusively for the diaspora youth. Information about HIPSA is available on www.hipsa.co.in Kanthi now spends most of her time in growing the vision of HIPSA, a vision that is in sync with the Government of India and their focus on Pravasi Bharti.
